Plus d'une douzaine de rappeurs tous plus talentueux les uns que les autres, un mélange des genres unique et un son très frais qui réconciliera les aficionados nostalgiques du "golden age of hip hop" avec le hip hop de demain. Ainsi sont les fondamentaux du nouvel album  de DESTRUMENTS, le bien nommé "Surpassing All Others".

À l’heure où l'on veut mettre une étiquette sur tout, il est très difficile de « ranger » DESTRUMENTS dans une case bien spécifique. Ils représentent à eux seuls un savoureux mélange de Jazz, Funk, Soul et Hip Hop. L'album "Surpassing All Others" reste profondément ancré dans le hip hop et ne s'abstient pas de rendre hommage au son qui leur a fait aimer tous les autres genres qui les influencent et dirigent leur musique.

Dès la première écoute, on ne peut s'empêcher de remarquer lapuissance de ce son aux lourdes vibrations où viennent se succéder, track après track, un grand nombre de MCs provenant de tous les États-Unis. Cotés "East Coast", on peut retrouver des tueurs de M.I.C comme Killah Priest (Wu Tang Clan), Jise (Arsonists), Quite Nyce, Swave Sevah, IDE, Alucard, Nems, The Day Laborers, Has-Lo, CF et Respect Tha God. Cotés "West Coast" des maîtres de cérémonie comme Othello, Ammbush et Tron 7 ainsi que Jermiside qui vient représenter le Sud.

Une énergie indéniable règne autour de cet album, un équilibre naturel entre instruments, samples, musicalité et créativité qui, de nos jours, manque cruellement à la plupart des albums récents ! La majorité des productions est signée Kelly Finnigan et Sean Willson, accompagnés d'artistes de talent comme J2, Jared Brown, ISM et la tête pensante de Creative Juices Music : IDE. Accueillis comme le nouveau Rawkus par le public new-yorkais, le label Creative Juices ramène, avec Destruments, le Hip Hop à ses racines.
